LE VELVETS

Message from LE VELVETS

Since Seiko is a name we have all known since childhood and a brand that represents high-quality manufacturing in Japan, we are honored to have the opportunity to sing this company song. Reflecting back on my swimming days, Seiko was always by my side. Then as now, I cherished a watch that continues to keep accurate time and accompanies me as I move forward, step by step, into the future. I hope this song, Seiko: Moving ahead. Touching hearts., reaches many people around the world. (Hironobu Miyahara, right)

I am very happy to have the opportunity to record Seiko's image song. During my elementary school track and field meets and swimming meets, I always saw the name SEIKO on the clocks and timing equipment around me. As I grew older, the same name was on my wrist, but the accuracy was the same as in the sports arena. Today, singing Moving ahead. Touching hearts. feels very meaningful to me. (Tatsuhiko Saga, left)

Recording this song, which is perfect for the start of a day, naturally lifted my spirits. I believe many people around the world have lived their lives, second by second, together with Seiko's watches. I am one of them.
Yuichiro Onuki, the pianist who supports our concerts, provided a wonderful arrangement that is characteristic of LE VELVETS. (Shinichiro Hino, second from right)

I am grateful for the opportunity to record this song. Reading a book about Seiko's efforts to support reconstruction after the earthquake made me feel especially happy. As someone from Fukushima Prefecture, which was badly damaged by the tsunami, I felt tremendous gratitude, and that feeling welled up in me as I sang this song. (Takanori Sato, second from left)

Using one baritone and three tenors, they cover a wide range of genres, including classical, rock, pop, jazz, and Japanese folk songs, creating a unique sound with their rich vocal harmonies.
They tour every year, playing halls and dinner shows nationwide. In addition, all the members work as musical actors, appearing in musicals such as Les Misérables and Elisabeth.
Although Tatsuhiko Saga had a stroke and had to take a one-year break, in September 2022, he resumed his activities with the band.

*As of the end of September 2024, Tatsuhiko Saga has left LE VELVETS to focus on rehabilitation.
