Seiko and Music
Connecting People Across Geography and Generations Through the Powerful Emotions Generated by Live Music
Seiko has always challenged itself to be genuine, and to create the kind of of emotional response that live performances bring out in people.
Sadly, we live in rapidly changing times, and there are fewer and fewer opportunities to experience genuine live music and to feel those non-verbal connections and communication across generations.
Seiko creates places to experience real, high-quality music, moving people emotionally and connecting generations around the world.

A Place to Connect with the Community through Music
The Sound of Wa Concert to Support Eastern Japan
This concert, which has been held often since 2011, embodies the word Wa (circle), symbolizing the circle of support for those affected by the disaster, the circle connecting dreams and hopes for the future, and more. By making music together with the people of Tohoku, Seiko passes on the spirit of triumphing over the disaster to the younger generation.

A Place Connected by Authentic Music
Seiko Summer Jazz Camp
Years ago we came up with an idea to hold a music camp in Japan that offers professional jazz instruction to young musicians during their summer vacation. We invited talented musicians active in the New York jazz scene to come to Japan to teach jazz performance techniques, music theory, and enhanced enjoyment of the form over five days. Through various live performances, the participants share the spirit of jazz with their instructors and expand the circle of friends who share the same dream.

Starry Night Concert
Back in 2007 we began to deliver a "one-night-only special session" with composer and jazz pianist Norio Maeda and special guests on a live stage.
After Norio Maeda's passing, the sessions continue several times a year with special guests, honoring his great achievements and carrying on his legacy.

Next-Generation Education through Music
The Toki-iku Seiko Waku Waku Music Classroom offers professional artist-led classes where children learn how to fully enjoy music. In addition to the fun aspects, the classes convey a professional attitude towards music and the importance of making continuous effort.
