Seiko’s Measurement Technology
Accurate timing and measurement are indispensable for sports competitions. Seiko has been supporting various athletic activities since 1964, always bringing cutting-edge technology to each event.
But Seiko brings more than technology; we also bring experience and a passion for sports.

Photo Finish System
Representative Event: 100m
Our camera is capable of measuring up to 1/10,000th of a second. However, in keeping with the regulations, the photo finish camera captures the last instant of a race in 1/100ths of a second.

Jump Management System
Representative Event: Long Jump
A high-speed camera that captures 300 FPS is used to judge the all-important take-off in long jump and triple jump. The image of the exact moment of take-off is displayed on a monitor, so the judges can see it clearly and determine whether it was legitimate or not.

Seiko believes that giving children the opportunity to experience the “real thing” will inspire them and, hopefully, lead to a brighter future.
