A Place to Connect with the Community through Music
Since the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011, Seiko has been holding "The Sound of Wa Concert to Support Eastern Japan" in three disaster-affected prefectures in Tohoku and also in Tokyo.
The name "Wa" in the concert signifies the "circle" of support activities, the "circle" of joining hands between victims and supporters, the "circle" of connecting hopes and thoughts for the future, the "harmony" of everyone working together for reconstruction, and the "harmony" of a vibrant Japan. It embodies a strong desire to expand these bonds of "Wa."
Initially, the concert was a place where supporters cheered for the victims, but now it has become a hopeful stage where the victims themselves participate and powerfully advance on the path to recovery.
In the Tohoku concerts, Seiko collaborates with local people every year from planning to creating music.
To prevent the experiences of the earthquake from fading, we will continue to connect through music and pass on the memories to the younger generation.

Committee Chairman, Shinji Hattori
Since 2011, the Seiko Group has been visiting various disaster areas together with the late maestro Norio Maeda, and producing concerts for local residents. This year, we will visit Date City in Fukushima Prefecture, Shizukuishi Town in Iwate Prefecture, and Rifu Town in Miyagi Prefecture, and hold the 50th commemorative concert at NHK Hall in Tokyo. We have been able to continue thanks to two important factors: the support of the artists who felt the same sense of responsibility that we did, and the cooperation of the local people. I sincerely thank you all.
"Never forget that time, but vow every day to keep moving forward." We will continue this concert series, believing in the power of music to heal, encourage, and bring smiles. We hope to deliver smiles through music to people all over Japan, and to the world, from concerts in Tohoku. We deeply appreciate your continued support.
