Message from Arisa Kano of Circus

When I was in elementary school, one day in music class we set lyrics written by the students to a nice melody, and we created a song. It was very moving, and even now I can't help but hum the melody whenever I hear it. Seiko’s Image Song created from lyrics contributed by Seiko Group employees is truly wonderful.

Profile

Circus

Circus made a sensational debut in the Japanese music scene with big hits like "Mr. Summertime" in 1978 and "American Feeling" in 1979. They were a unique vocal group consisting of two men and two women, an unprecedented formation at that time. After several member changes, the current fifth generation of Circus was born. Their sophisticated and highly polished harmonies have been acclaimed far and wide, and they continue to perform all over Japan, mainly in concerts.
They have collaborated with numerous orchestras under the direction of Katsuhisa Hattori and Norio Maeda, delivering emotional harmonies at many events. In May 2011, they were invited to perform at JAPAN DAY in New York, captivating both domestic and international audiences with a live show on an outdoor stage in Central Park.
In March 2013, two young members joined the group, which soon released its 35th anniversary album "We Love Harmony!" and "the CD The Reborn Songs — 80’s Harmony", covering famous J-POP songs from the 1980s in Circus's unique style. In 2015, they released the first CD of their new project. It was called "POP STEP JAZZ", and was followed in 2016 by a second CD, "POP STEP BOSSA". They have enjoyed many popular live tours in Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka.
