Interview

  • Q : What do you enjoy doing at home?

I enjoy reading manga and watching movies. Since I often miss sleep due to classes and training, I make sure to catch up on sleep when I can.

  • Q : What is your favorite food?

I love noodles, especially udon. I have a favorite udon restaurant, and my favorite dish is Niku Reitama (cold udon with meat and egg).

  • Q : Is there a sport other than your own that you would like to try?

Fencing. I’ve wanted to try it for a long time. I’ve heard that having long arms is an advantage, so I’d like to give it a try.

  • Q : What are your aims as an athlete?

As a hurdler, I want to break the Japan record for the 400m hurdles (47.89 seconds). I believe that competing in two different types of event in the same competition is my strength. I always want to be a very versatile athlete.
