Seiko Holdings Corporation Introduces Renewable Energy to Head Office Building

November 16, 2021
Seiko Holdings Corporation

Seiko Holdings Corporation (Chairman & Group CEO, CCO: Shinji Hattori; head office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo, Japan) is pleased to announce that the company has introduced 100% virtually renewable energy to its head office building in Ginza, Tokyo.

The plan introduced this time is a combination of electricity procured by Ennet Corporation (President and CEO: Naoyuki Taniguchi; Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo, Japan) and renewable energy-designated Non-Fossil Certificates*1 to achieve virtually zero CO2 emissions from the electricity used at the head office building.

The Seiko Holdings Group has already introduced renewable energy at Morioka Seiko Instruments Inc. (Shizukuishi-cho, Iwate Prefecture, Japan) and at Seiko Instruments (Thailand) Ltd. Currently, we are preparing to start operation at Seiko Instruments Sendai Unit (Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture). We will continue to expand the use of renewable energy throughout the Group.

(*1) A document that certifies the environmental value of electricity generated from non-fossil power sources (those that generate electricity without using fossil fuels such as coal and oil), and therefore do not emit CO2.
