Seiko Group Corporation (Chairman, Group CEO, and Group CCO: Shinji Hattori; Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo) completed its transition to using virtually 100% renewable energy for electricity supply at all its domestic sites as of March 2025.

The Seiko Group has set a goal of achieving “net zero” greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from all business-related activities by 2050. In line with its decarbonization transition plan (Scope 1 and 2), the Group has been actively promoting energy conservation across all operations, installing solar panels, implementing on-site and off-site Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs)*, and switching to renewable energy contracts. For certain tenant-operated sites, the Group has purchased non-fossil certificates with tracking**to confirm that electricity usage comes from renewable sources. Through these efforts, the Group has successfully achieved virtually 100% renewable energy usage at all its domestic sites.

The Group expects this transition to renewable energy to reduce roughly 34,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually, based on its fiscal 2024 total electric power usage of approximately 81 GWh.

Looking ahead, the Group will continue to accelerate GHG emissions reductions, aiming to achieve its 100% renewable energy target at all overseas operations by fiscal year 2040.

*Power Purchase Agreement (PPA): An agreement where a PPA provider installs renewable energy generation equipment on the premises of the electricity consumer (on-site PPA) or off-site and supplies electricity via the power grid (off-site PPA).
**Non-fossil certificates with tracking: Certificates that verify electricity is generated from non-fossil sources, such as solar or wind, including information about the type of power source and the power plant.
