Seiko Holdings Corporation (Chairman & Group CEO: Shinji Hattori, Head Office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo, Japan, hereinafter referred to as "Seiko") is pleased to announce that Seiko will serve as the official timer of the IAAF World Championships London 2017 that will take place in London, the United Kingdom from August 4 through 13, 2017.

The world championships in London 2017 is the 178th event hosted by the IAAF (International Association of Athletics Federations) that Seiko serves as the official timer since the partnership agreement signed in 1985. Seiko has been supporting the IAAF World Championships, the top-level world competition in athletics, for 15 consecutive editions since the 2nd World Championships in Athletics held in Rome, Italy. Seiko has measured great moments in a number of international events under the close cooperation with IAAF while responding to the trust placed by athletes and spectators for over 30 years.

Seiko will also contribute to the success of the championships London 2017 with the various timing systems using the state-of-the-art technology in the track, field, and road events respectively.
In the stadium, there will be networked devices including the field event board with high visibility, the trackside display board, and other display systems. They will help spectators have more fun with the track and field in which several events are held simultaneously.

The Seiko official website introduces the timing and measurement systems used specifically for sprint, jump, and throw events in an animated, easy-to-understand way. Please check them out from the following URL.
