MISIA visits Grand Seiko Studio Shizukuishi

In May 2025, Seiko Group Ambassador MISIA visited the Grand Seiko Studio Shizukuishi, located in the beautiful forests of Iwate Prefecture.
MISIA, together with Seiko Group CEO Hattori, paused in the exhibition space in the entrance hall to take a close look at the many tiny parts that go into a Grand Seiko watch, and then toured the brightly sunlit assembly workshop. It was an opportunity to witness master watchmakers assembling dozens of delicately crafted parts into world-class precision mechanisms. It was MISIA’s first time to see Grand Seiko's tradition of “expert craftsmanship” for herself. She appreciated the skill and passion of the craftspeople working there, in harmony with Nature.

In addition, MISIA planted Edohigan trees in the Waku Waku Biotope within the Morioka Seiko Industrial grounds. Edohigan is a cherry blossom that blooms in the middle of the Spring, before other cherries, and produces pale crimson flowers. Cherry blossoms are also mentioned in the lyrics of Yubikiri Genman, the theme song of a 2024 TV drama that depicts the fascinating life of our founder, Kintaro Hattori. We are confident that the cherry trees MISIA planted will grow well, and one day they will bloom and add lush colors to the Spring scenery of this area.
