March 15, 2018
Seiko Holdings Corporation

The IAAF World Indoor Championships ended on a high note on Sunday with the Polish 4X400 meter men's team winning gold in a new indoor world record time of 3:01:77. As if to underline the top quality of the event, the silver medal winning team from the USA also bettered the old world record.

The Championships attracted over 600 athletes from 150 nations and, demonstrating again the enduring global popularity of the event, a remarkable 32 nations won medals and six Championship records and 44 national records were set.

Seiko was proud to be the official timer to these Championships and to record these great performances. Seiko's team of 25 engineers provided the timing and measurement service, using the very latest in sports technology, including the Seiko video distance measurement system that has significantly shortened the time needed to measure the long and triple jump events.

Seiko has been official timekeeper to every IAAF Indoor Championship ever held and to every IAAF World Championship sine Roma 1987. Seiko looks forward to its next IAAF event, the World Half Marathon Championships in Valencia, Spain and to the next World Championships in Doha in 2019.
